Seniors Section
Minehead & West Somerset Golf Club Minehead has a thriving, friendly and welcoming Seniors’ section, currently comprising of over 100 Members.
Who is eligible
Any member of Minehead Golf Club who is 55+ may apply to join the section. There is no joining fee. There is an annual fee of £5.

The ethos of the Seniors’ Section is to offer and promote golf and social events for senior members of Minehead Golf Club.
Activities within the Seniors Section
The main objective of the Seniors Committee is to promote and organise golf within the section in a friendly atmosphere where enjoyment is key.
Competitions
The seniors meet three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays throughout the year.
A wide variety of team competitions are played, for example: Texas Scramble, Bowmakers, Yellow Ball, Waltz, Greensomes etc. You are welcome to enter as many or as few as you choose.
There is at least one monthly qualifying medal or stableford.
During the year, the Seniors also play for a total of sixteen cups/trophies comprising a mix of formats played in pairs or as individuals.
The Seniors’ Captain and Competition Secretary also organise Inter-Club friendly matches which are posted on the Seniors’ notice board well in advance. A list of these friendly matches is included on the Seniors’ web section, as is the Seniors Diary for 2023.
Additionally, there are also inter-club and open senior championships to be played for, both home and away.
